Benjamin Franklin Elementary Mathematics and Science School is now a GLOBE site. The Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) Program is an international science and education program that provides students and the public worldwide with the opportunity to participate in data collection and the scientific process, and contribute meaningfully to our understanding of the Earth system and global environment. The mission of the GLOBE program fits perfectly with our Mathematics and Science focus. Our gifted resource teacher, Sabina Puri was certified in the GLOBE Program in 1998. She updated her certification through the Young Environmental Science Stewards workshops this summer. In this workshop, she investigated the watershed around us as well as did other field experiences in the marshes of the Ponchartrain Estuary.
Accelerating the learning of all students through data driven inquiry, reflective teaching, and powerful learning
